LANDMARK’S BELIEFS

The Holy Scriptures

We believe God has preserved His inspired Word in the English Language in the Authorized Version 1611 (King James Bible).

Dispensationalism

We believe that the Scriptures should be interpreted in their normal, literal, grammatical and historical meaning.  We believe God has dealt with mankind throughout different dispensations of which there are three dispensations that are the subject of detailed revelation in Scripture (e.g. The Law, The Grace and The Kingdom).

The Godhead

We believe in one triune God eternally existent who has manifested Himself in three co-equal persons (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost).

The Person and Work of Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is God in human flesh, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life.  Jesus Christ died on the cross of calvary for all mankind, was buried, and literally & physically rose again to purchase the sinner’s salvation.  We believe that He ascended to Heaven and will one day soon come back for His bride (the Church).

The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Ghost is the third person of the Godhead who works to bring conviction to the sinner, indwells and seals the believer and empowers the church with the gifts of the Spirit.  The miraculous sign gifts of the early church have ceased with the completion of the New Testament and the death of the apostles.

The Total Depravity Of Man

We believe that mankind is sinful and cannot save himself and that he is in need of a Saviour.

Salvation

We believe that God has offered salvation to every man which is received only by repentance and faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Eternal Security of the Believer

We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells and seals the believer at salvation and that he is eternally secure.

The Church

We believe that the local church is the body and the bride of Jesus Christ.  The two ordinances of the local church are Believer’s Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.  The focus of the church is the Great Commission.

The Ordinance Of Baptism

We believe that Scriptural Baptism is by full immersion and that it symbolizes the Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Baptism is only for those who have been Born-Again.  For Baptism to be Scriptural it must be administered by the authority of the local New Testament Baptist Church.

The Lord’s Supper

We believe that the Lord’s Supper is the second ordinance of the local church, which is only to be observed by members of that local church.  It is a picture of Jesus’ broken body, His shed blood and His imminent return.

Separation

We believe that Christians should live separated from the world and sanctified unto God in order to glorify Him with our lives.

The Second Advent of Jesus Christ

We believe in the Pretribulational Rapture of the Church and the Premillennial Return of Jesus Christ followed by his 1,000 Year Reign.

The Eternal State

We believe in a literal Heaven and Hell, where individuals who are lost will spend eternity in the Lake of Fire, and those who are saved will spend eternity with the Lord.

The Personality Of Satan

We believe that Lucifer is the fallen angel who is now known as Satan.  He works to prevent the lost from becoming saved and the Christians from serving God.  Ultimately he attempts to seek revenge on the Lord.

Creation

We believe in the Genesis account of Creation.  God created the universe in six literal 24-hour days and that He rested on the seventh day.

Civil Government

We believe that God has created Government and that it is one of the three institutions that the Lord established (e.g. the Home, the Government and the Church).

Human Sexuality

We believe that God has created only two genders (e.g. Male and Female) and that marriage is defined only by the union of a biological male and female.

Abortion

We believe that life begins at conception.  Any premeditated termination of life in the womb is murder.

Missions

We believe that it is the responsibility of the Church to propagate the Gospel of Jesus Christ both domestically and internationally.

Lawsuits Between Believers

We believe that church members should not take one another to court in order to settle matters of dispute.

Giving

We believe that Christians should tithe and give an offering to support the work of the local church.
